Moira Kucaba: Owner & Certified
Pilates Mat, Apparatus and

PreNatal Pilates Instructor
Moira brings a vast amount of experience to
the training floor. The avid athlete, she
lettered in track, field hockey and
softball in high school and was also a
competitive gymnast from the age of six.
While attending Salisbury University, Moira
worked as a personal trainer and managed a
health club for 3 years. Upon moving to San
Diego, her desire to learn more about
exercise and the mysteries of physical
performance led her to Pilates of La Jolla.
There, she excelled through an extensive
internship under the guidance of Jake and
Moji Homes, founders of the Satori Method.
After excelling in her work at Pilates of
La Jolla, Moira decided to bring her
knowledge to the East Coast. In the summer
of 2002, she opened Pilates of Charleston
in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.Today,
Moira continues to add to her arsenal of
knowledge through classes, seminars and
clinics. She attributes her success to
sincere, single-minded desire to achieve
results for the client.

Patricia Maples: LMT,
Registered Yoga
Teacher
and
Certified Pilates
Instructor
IPatricia began teaching at Pilates of
Charleston in June 2006. In addition to
being a Pilates instructor, she is also a
Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor, a
NCBTMB licensed massage therapist, & a
veterinary assistant at Pet Vet Animal
Hospital. Patricia believes that yoga and
Pilates complement each other beautifully
and recommends the implementation of both
to her massage clients. Her classes are
relaxed and informal, placing emphasis on
alignment and a compassionate practice. She
is currently a student at the College of
Charleston, slowly but surely chipping away
at her degrees in Religious Studies &
Political Science, and hopes to either go
to medical or graduate school.
Her interests range from a passion for
great vegan/vegetarian food (if traveling
in the San Francisco area, be sure to try
Millenium restaurant!) to the popular
triumvirate of travel, books and film to a
possibly unhealthy attachment to her
numerous pets. Patricia’s current projects
include working very hard to not fidget in
meditation and trying to live by the
mantra, “Be the change you wish to see in
the world.” She lives in the Park Circle
area of North Charleston with her very
significant other, 6 cats, 2 dogs and a
very strong vacuum.
