Moira Kucaba Owner
& Instructor
Moira comes to us from
Salisbury, Maryland, bringing a vast amount of experience to the training
floor. The avid athlete, she lettered in track, field hockey and softball in
high school and was also a competitive gymnast from the age of six.
While attending Salisbury
University, Moira worked as a personal trainer and managed a health club for 3
years. Upon moving to San Diego, her desire to learn more about exercise and
the mysteries of physical performance led her to Pilates of La Jolla. There,
she excelled through an extensive internship under the guidance of Jake and
Moji Homes, founders of the Satori Fitness Method.
After excelling in her work at
Pilates of La Jolla, Moira decided to bring her knowledge to the East Coast. In
the summer of 2002, she opened Pilates of Charleston in Mount Pleasant, South
Carolina.
Today, Moira continues to add
to her arsenal of knowledge through classes, seminars and clinics. She
attributes her success to sincere, single-minded desire to achieve results for
the client.

Jenna Componovo
Instructor

Jenna comes to us from Glen
Ridge, New Jersey. Since 1992, she's embraced The Pilates Method, beginning her
practice first as a springboard diver. Since then, she's continued her personal
practice and grown to appreciate the extra benefits of Pilates-increased mental
awareness, better posture, and a love for the program and desire to share it
with others.
She is dedicated to continuous
learning. After receiving a BA from Georgetown University, she pursued and
received her Spa Management Director Certification from Preston Wynne, an MBA
from Columbia University, and her Pilates instructor certification from Peak
Pilates, out of Boulder, Colorado.
Jenna avidly reads on the
subjects of emotional intelligence, motivation, healthy living and
spirituality, and is dedicated to enriching the lives of those with whom she
works. She enjoys spending time with her husband Roger, family and friends, as
well as all types of music, movies, and long chats over Italian cuisine!

Gina
Carricato Instructor
Gina thinks Pilates is the
perfect exercise and that nearly everyone should be practicing it. Originally
from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she has lived in the Charleston area for five
years. She enjoys living close to the beach where there is usually warm weather
and sunny skies. Gina discovered Pilates after years of suffering from
generalized back pain due to muscular imbalances and weak abdominals. Having
worked in the corporate world for years, she understands a busy lifestyle,
office hours, and the effects of sitting at a computer all day. She now focuses
her time and energy helping others discover the powers of Pilates in overcoming
ailments, counteracting the wear of everyday life on the body, and becoming
generally more healthy and fit.
She is certified through Peak
Pilates and teaches both mat and apparatus in the classical style, with modern
accents. In addition to her Pilates training, Gina holds a B.A. degree from the
University of Pittsburgh. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, film,
and being out on the water.
Gina loves the combined mental
and physical focus of Pilates and that the movements, similar to dance, feel
like swimming in air. An avid student of Pilates for years before becoming a
certified instructor, Gina continues to expand her knowledge and understanding
of the method, as well as the human body. One of her favorite quotes from
Joseph Pilates is "Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness."
