The Pilates of Charleston Method: Combining the Classical and Satori Pilates methods—creating a fun practice that improves student safety & performance results.

At Pilates of Charleston, you will learn the traditional movements designed by Joseph H. Pilates and personalized techniques based on the Satori Method and Zen principle of mind, body and spirit as one. Owner Moira Kucaba's modern Satori Pilates training in Zen principles creates a balance with owner Jenna Componovo's Peak Pilates training in the Classical Method. Their distinct backgrounds challenge them to find deeper meaning in the choices they make as your guides to inner & physical strength.

The Satori Method

The Satori Method of Pilates is based on the Zen principle of mind, body and spirit as one. It is based firmly on the principles of Joseph Pilates; Yoga; Peter Egoscue; Zen and physiological common sense.

With this method we will take you to fitness and health levels most think unattainable. We guarantee that your clothes will begin to fit differently after only a few sessions and you will notice a visible change in the mirror after eight to ten sessions. Pain will disappear and natural good posture will return.

The Classical Method

The Classical Method of Pilates is the original method created by Joseph Pilates. Originally designed to rehabilitate rheumatic patients, the method is designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body.

Through consistent practice of Pilates routines and focused breathing, students can expect increased lung capacity, circulation, flexibility and core strength. Ultimately, the practice teaches balance and body control which can help all areas of one's life.
